            Twined textile wallet made about 1785 by Molly Ockett (Marie Agathe), an Abenaki.  The decoration is false embroidery done with split porcupine quills.

                     Bone Needles for Mending Snowshoes

   Cigar case of wool-covered birch bark decorated with dyed   
   moose hair embroidery, mid-to late 1800s.  Ursuline nuns in
   Quebec developed moose hair embroidery in the 1600s.
